Happy Friday! I've finally found some time to update you all on my 30 by 30 Challenge. October was extremely productive, but in a way I didn't expect. I've been working on a friend's Airbnb that is set to open at the end of this month. It's been so much fun working on it with her, and I'm grateful for the opportunity.
Anyway, I made a lot of progress this month in my Classics Reading Challenge. By the time this is published, I will have read: Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, Gone with the Wind, Little Women, Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Persuasion, Mansfield Park, and Northanger Abbey. My favorite so far has been Gone with the Wind. How on earth can I give a book five stars, yet hate it at the same time? Rhett and Scarlett are a classic couple, and the true definition of "made for each other".
I purchased a gratitude journal from The Daily Grace Co, and began using it everyday. Practicing gratitude has been a great practice for me. It helps me think about my day, and even if it isn't obvious, it forces me to find a "silver lining" in each day.
And now for my biggest accomplishment this month: I finished reading the Bible in it's entirety! I'm so proud of this, and more importantly, I learned more about God and my relationship with Him has gotten stronger. That's always the goal, right?
As a reminder, I put my original list below. I'm excited to keep pushing through this challenge, and finding out how much more I will accomplish by July 2024!

Start a blog. Okay, I can check this one off the list!
Do the splits.
Reach blue belt. I've been taking Taekwondo class since the end of February 2023, and I really enjoy them. My goal is black belt, but that's not realistically attainable in a year considering I'm orange stripe right now.
Complete French Rookie level on Duolingo. I took French for two years in high school, and I love the language. I've gone back to it several times over the past few years, but I haven't gotten very far. I hope to change that.
Complete Greek Rookie level and learn Greek letters on Duolingo. I'm clearly an overachiever, so why not learn two languages??
Start a garden. This has been a goal for two, no three, years now, but I haven't gotten past the planning stage. Let's make it happen!
Learn to can. What else will I do with the overabundance of veggies I'll grow?
Learn to sew. Again, something that's been on my list for many years.
See the Grand Canyon. I've always wanted to see it, but I haven't had the time. I can't wait to tell my husband we're going.
Go to the beach. I've been a few times as a kid, but I want to take our kids. The beach is so magical.
Read 30 classic books. I love reading, but I haven't made time to read many classics. I'm now on 10/30
Speaking of books, who else has read ACOTAR? It's one of my favorite book series, and I have a tattoo in mind.
Train for, and run a 5K. I'm not a runner, at all. So we'll see how this one turns out.
Make a list of my accomplishments. Very important to see how far I've come.
Make a list of God's faithfulness. Even more important.
Try 12 new recipes. I really love to cook, and it will be fun to try out new recipes and share how they go. I'm on 2/12
Practice gratitude. Does anyone else struggle to be grateful? I definitely do, especially when my kids are being extra and my day doesn't go as planned.
Streamline my wardrobe. I have too many clothes, yet I buy more and still feel like I don't have anything to wear. Why??
Read through the Bible. I've never accomplished this, but it's an important goal. I'm FINISHED!!
Go horseback riding. No explanation needed.
Complete 12 home projects. I have a lot I want to accomplish. Time for glitter pens and a new list! I'm on 3/12.
Make ice cream. This just sounds fun to do with my kids.
Go wine tasting. Nothing fancier than tasting wine.
Go on a solo trip. Where? I have no idea. Lots to plan.
Start a Roth IRA. I just need to do this. Not super fun, but necessary.
Attempt a 30-day no-spend challenge. If I still spend money, but keep track, does that count towards completion?
Speaking of finances, I need to save more money. I have a pretty big goal. Wish me luck.
Create home routines, and stick with them. I used to be really good at this, and I'd like to get back to that.
Go on an out-of-state trip with my husband. Quality time with him is the best, but we don't get enough of it.
Plan my "Death to my 20s" birthday party. We will all wear black, and cry tears of joy.
